Rain is expected in Seattle today where the Seahawks host the Buffalo Bills. Weather conditions at the rest of Sunday’s outdoor National Football League venues call for clear or partly cloudy skies.
The point spread move this morning on the Chicago Bears versus Washington Commanders contest indicates that head coach Dan Quinn had decided to give it a go with his prize rookie quarterback, Jayden Daniels. The matchup between the two top draft choices in last April’s NFL draft, Chicago’s Caleb Williams and Washington’s Daniels, was in jeopardy based on a rib injury suffered by the Commanders single caller early in last week’s win over the Carolina Panthers.
His doubtful participation had the visiting Bears up to a road favorite by as many as three points, but this morning the line has dropped to one with indicators that the contest will likely go off as a pick ‘em. Injury reports are a more reliable way to tell if a key play is going to participate in a game or not. Coaches like to get a competitive edge by playing coy on whether an injured athlete is or isn’t going to be available even when they know. The books don’t play such games.
The starting quarterback matchup in Washington is highly anticipated. Last year, the first player in the draft, Bryce Young, was a bust while the second overall selection, C.J. Stroud, had one of the best rookie quarterback seasons on record while leading the Houston Texans to the playoffs.
Today, after Andy Dalton was involved in a traffic accident early this week, the Panthers will make another attempt with Young behind center.
No busts this year in the top two quarterbacks selected by Chicago and Washington. Williams is having a fine season in Chicago while Daniels is rewriting the completion records for the Commanders.
The Kansas City Chiefs remain the lone undefeated team in the NFL after seven weeks of play. Last Sunday, at Levi’s Stadium, Patrick Mahomes and company pinned the San Francisco 49ers with their fifth straight head-to-head loss which includes a pair of Super Bowl wins for Andy Reid’s squad.
Today, the Chiefs roll the dice for a seventh straight win in Las Vegas.
The public has checked in with their three favorite plays of the week beginning with the Green Bay Packers (-4) over the Jacksonville Jaguars and followed by the Baltimore Ravens (-8½) over the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions (-11½) over the Tennessee Titans.
As for the Qoxhi money rated plays, they are now posted on this site and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour leading up to the day’s first kickoff, that game will be added to the list of recommendations by 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
