Rain in Green Bay for the Packers game against the Arizona Cardinals, otherwise no weather conditions that will affect the play on the field for the National Football League’s sixth week of regular season action.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are at a crossroad with their starting quarterback situation. Because Justin Fields, who did not win the job during the preseason but was handed it because of an injury to Russell Wilson, is on the cusp of losing the job. The Steelers opened the season as an underdog in Atlanta and Fields took advantage of that sweet spot with an 18-10 victory.
Fields notched a second straight win in Denver against a Broncos team that was still looking for itself with rookie Bo Nix behind center. The Broncos haven’t lost since. In the third week, Fields earned a win in the Steelers home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-10. In those three season opening victories the Pittsburgh defense limited their opponents to a total of 26 points.
In the past two weeks, the Steelers defense has been dinged for 27 and 20 points in losses to the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys respectively. In other words, Fields can win when the Steelers defense shuts down their opponent but is not good enough to outscore a Steelers foe.
That is why, soon enough, Fields will be relegated to the bench and give way to a now physically ready to perform Russell Wilson. It could happen today in Las Vegas, if Pittsburgh falls behind the Raiders as a road favorite.
A road favorite role off a road loss is a very bad spot.
The only question is whether the Raiders, shifting to a new quarterback themselves while replacing Gardner Minshew with Aidan O’Connell, are good enough to take advantage of a real good point spread spot.
The public, who has no aversion to laying points, have come with their three favorite plays of the day. The public likes the Atlanta Falcons (-6) over the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans (-7) over the New England Patriots, and Pittsburgh Steelers (-3½) over the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Qoxhi Week Six selections are now posted on this site, and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour leading up to the 10:00 a.m. kickoffs, that game will be added to the list of recommendations by 9:45 a.m.
