While a number of southern states have endured severe weather that cost dozens of lives, the National Football League has for a fourth straight week avoided any weather conditions that would adversely affect the play on the field. It could rain a little tonight, when the Baltimore Ravens host the Buffalo Bills, but that is the extent of weather concerns for Week Four action.
After three weeks of play the NFL has five teams without a loss and three teams looking for their first win. The defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs have survived three close contests and today meet one of their AFC West Division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, on the road.
Chargers Quarterback Justin Herbert is nursing a high ankle sprain, an injury that he played with last week in Pittsburgh before he was forced to the sidelines midway through the third quarter in the Chargers 20-10 loss. New Los Angeles Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has indicated he will play Herbert again today for their showdown with Patrick Mahomes and company. If he exacerbates the injury further, the Chargers season could be doomed while Herbert limps though the year.
While the Chiefs and Bills have perfect records this season through three weeks, they are joined by a trio of surprise three game winners including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. All three of those surprise three-win teams are on the road today with Pittsburgh at Indianapolis, Minnesota at Green Bay and tomorrow night the Seahawks meet the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
Injuries have added up for a lot of teams this year. The Colts host the Steelers today without key personnel on the defensive side of the ball, while the game in Los Angeles finds the Chargers nursing Herbert and the Chiefs without Isiah Pecheco, who broke his leg two weeks ago in a win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The three teams without a win so far in 2024 are the Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans. While Tennessee is struggling, the lack of wins for Cincinnati and Jacksonville are surprising. The Jaguars had a winning campaign last year, 9 and 8, and the Bengals were looking for a big season this year with the return of quarterback Joe Burrow.
In search of their first 2024 wins today, the Jaguars are in Houston, the Bengals at Carolina and the Titans meet the Miami Dolphins on the road tomorrow night.
The public has checked in with their three favorite plays of the day and among their selections is their first underdog choice of the season. The three public plays are the Pittsburgh Steelers (-2) over the Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints (+3) over the Atlanta Falcons, and Houston Texans (-6) over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
As for the Qoxhi Week Four selections, they are now posted on this site and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour before the first kickoff that game will be added to the list of recommendations by 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
