Rain and Changes
by Dennis Ranahan

 Patriots/Broncos Monday game postponed

Rain in the forecast at four National Football League sites today, the virus has upset the schedule while sending two games to be played on Monday and Tuesday that were originally scheduled for today, and this week the league has their first open dates with the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers not in action.

Rain is in the forecast for the games in Washington, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Seattle where the Redskins, Steelers, Ravens and Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings respectively.

As for the changes in game dates, based on Covid-19 positive tests and concerns, the contest between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots has been added to the Monday night schedule with a kickoff set for 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time, but this morning even that is in jeopardy based on additional concerns around the Patriots organization. The AFC matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans will be played on Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. starting time.

Today, the Washington Redskins have made a voluntary switch at quarterback with first-year head coach Ron Rivera benching second-year starter Wayne Haskins in favor of Kyle Allen. Washington hosts the Los Angeles Rams at FedExField.

The Russian Roulette that this season has become based on virus disruptions is adding a tension no other NFL campaign has ever had to confront. The league has had false positive tests close camps before corrections were made, and positive results sending shockwaves throughout the league.

Last week, the Patriots were anemic on offense in Kansas City while Cam Newton is sidelined with the virus. His availability for Monday’s game is still uncertain ... as is even the playing of this game.

The public has checked in with their three favorite plays for Week Five, and they are laying seven points a trio of times. In order, the most bet teams by the public are the Arizona Cardinals (-7) over New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers (-7) over Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks (-7) over the Minnesota Vikings.

As for Qoxhi Picks, our Week Five selections are now posted on this site, and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour before the first kickoff, that selection will be added to the recommendations at 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
