Covid Concerns
by Dennis Ranahan

While the weather has been generally mild this season, we do have rain and wind that could affect play today in Cleveland, where the Browns host the Houston Texans, and in Green Bay, for the Packers versus Jacksonville Jaguars matchup.

Covid-19 continues to be a major concern in the league. Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was exposed and therefore quarantined during the week but is ready to play today when he battles the Cincinnati Bengals at Heinz Field. The Steelers are the lone remaining undefeated team, having survived a flat performance last Sunday in Dallas while the Cowboys picked up their first point spread win of the season in a 24-19 loss.

The NFL management council met this week and determined contingency plans in case the virus prevented every team from playing their full schedule in the 17 week regular season. The accommodations include an 18th week of regular season play and expanded playoff field.

While Pittsburgh is the last team without a loss, the New York Jets are the last team in the NFL without a win this year. They almost got their first on Monday night against the New England Patriots, but allowed a late lead to slip to another defeat, 30-27. The Jets have their bye this week, while the Patriots are one of the most bet against teams of the week for their game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The most bet game of the week by the public is the Seattle Seahawks (+2½) over the Los Angeles Rams. The game will be played at SoFi Stadium and the winner will have first place in the NFC Western Conference. The Rams come into the game one back in the win/loss column and a victory would even their record with Seattle and give them the early leg up on the tiebreaker based on head-to-head competition. The Seahawks and Rams meet for a second time this season on December 27th.

The second most bet game by the public this week is the aforementioned Ravens (-7) over New England. Followed by the Green Bay Packers (-14) over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As for Qoxhi, our money rated plays are now posted on this site and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour leading up to the day’s first kickoff, it will be added to the list of recommendations by 9:45 a.m.
