Injury Factor
by Dennis Ranahan

We open the November part of the National Football League schedule with mild weather conditions at all ten outdoor venues today.

The injury front is a different story.

The league leading Arizona Cardinals are without their star quarterback, Kyler Murray, for their game this afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. The New Orleans Saints lost starting quarterback Jameis Winston to a season ending knee injury last Sunday during their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They have opted to start Trevor Siemian today in their home contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Siemian played nearly three quarters of last week’s win over the defending Super Bowl Champions, Taysom Hill is also available after being sidelined for nearly a month.

The Tennessee Titans, who extended their division lead in the AFC South to three games over the Indianapolis Colts with an overtime victory at Lucas Oil Stadium last week, are without their top runner, Derrick Henry, for a number of weeks.

The New England Patriots are in search of their third consecutive win today when they visit the Carolina Panthers. We have had our eye on the injury report out of Carolina before selecting them today to end the Patriots winning streak.

Carolina Quarterback San Darnold had both a contusion in his throwing shoulder and was in concussion protocol this week. He has been cleared to start this game and may have Christian McCaffery back in the lineup to bolster the Panthers attack.

Before McCaffrey was injured, he contributed to Carolina’s season opening three victories, and without McCaffrey in their lineup the Panthers dropped four straight games before their win last Sunday over the Atlanta Falcons.

Expecting Darnold to start, and the possibility of McCaffrey back in the Carolina lineup, are the final two elements in tabbing the Panthers a money play today over the Patriots.

The public has lined up on their three favorite plays for Week Nine, they have loaded up on the Baltimore Ravens (-6) over the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams (-7) over the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots (-3½) over the Carolina Panthers.

The Qoxhi selections are now posted on this site, and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour leading up to the day’s first kickoff, that game will be added to the list of recommendations by 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
