SEASON:

Top to Bottom
by Dennis Ranahan

The National Football League’s 14 games today have ten that are played at an outdoor venue. And the weather at all those ten sites is downright pleasant.

In Tennessee, where the Titans host the Las Vegas Raiders, we find two teams that were in the playoffs last year and are winless this season. One of them is going to remain so after today’s skirmish in Nissan Stadium.

In fact, a look at the seven playoff teams from the AFC last season finds three of them without a win this year. In addition to the Titans and Raiders, the defending champion Cincinnati Bengals are also still winless. Two of the seven playoff teams from last season in the AFC have won their first two games, the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.

It is hard to imagine that either the Titans, who were the top seed in the playoffs last year, or the Raiders, who had high hopes for this season after cracking the playoff field last year, would be 0 and 3 to start this season. Isn’t it even harder to imagine one of them going to be 0-4? We might just be on the loser of today’s Titans/Raiders game next week. Tennessee is at Indianapolis and the Raiders host the Broncos.

Back to this week.

The public has checked in with their three favorite plays of the week, they are the Kansas City Chiefs (-5) over Indianapolis Colts; Baltimore Ravens (-2½) over the New England Patriots; and Buffalo Bills (-5) over Miami Dolphins.

As for the Qoxhi Week Three selections, they are now posted on this site and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour leading up to the day’s first kickoff, that game will be added to the list of recommendations by 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
