The weather on this early fall day for the outdoor sites of the National Football League Week Three schedule calls for mild temperatures and no discernible percipitation. Of course, the 2020 conditions are much more tied to the coronavirus than the weather. And in that department, the league has suffered the first case since the season began two weeks ago.
Atlanta Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell, the 16th player selected in last April’s NFL draft, was informed on Saturday he tested positive for Covid-19. The test was administered on Friday, and when he got the news yesterday afternoon, there was some initial concern that the Falcons contest today against the Chicago Bears could be cancelled.
So far, and we expect this to hold, it has not been.
Terrell has been placed on the Covid reserve list, and since he practiced with the team on Friday, league protocol mandates immediate contact tracing. As of Saturday, no other player has tested positive.
The Falcons suffering this possible setback only adds to their already mounting problems for the 2020 season. While Matt Ryan has thrown for more yards than any quarterback in the league, 701, the Falcons defense has allowed the second most passing yards in the NFL through two games, 744. The Falcons are still looking for their first win, while the team that has allowed the most passing yards this season, the Seattle Seahawks, have opened their campaign with back-to-back wins.
The most bet teams by the public this week are the Green Bay Packers (+3½) over the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals (-5½) over the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6) over the Denver Broncos.
As for the Qoxhi Picks selections today, those games are now posted on this site and if a Bullet Play develops in the hour leading up to the day’s first kickoff, that selection will be added to the playlist at 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
