Still without any severe weather at a game site this year, although the New England Patriots are going to take the brunt of a cold front and precipitation at Gillette Stadium today. Rain will also fall in New Jersey, where the Jets host the Oakland Raiders. Rain early in the day and the possibility of light showers during the game exists for the Philadelphia Eagles, who host the Seattle Seahawks.
The Denver Broncos pushed to a 20-0 halftime lead in Minnesota last week, only to get run down and over in the second half and lose the game, 27-23. Today, they are in Buffalo to meet a Bills team with seven wins in ten decisions this season.
Both these teams excel on the defensive side of the ball, and while neither has an explosive offense, the Bills have managed to win seven times while the Broncos have lost seven of their ten decisions.
One might interpret that to mean the Bills are better and they win today and clear the four point spread. How I read that lead-up to this game is that the Broncos are much more likely to win a fourth game before the Bills win their eighth. The point spread can always save a straight-up loser, but I’m thinking today the Broncos come up a straight-up winner.
This will be a great test for Broncos first-year head coach Vic Fagio. How his squad recovers from a second half collapse last week will be a true testament to the strength of this team. If the Broncos go on the road and play 60 minutes to grind out a win, then they are on their way to being a better football team.
If, on the other hand, Denver plays this game like they played the fourth quarter in Minnesota, when they allowed 20 unanswered points, the Broncos 2019 season is put on life support.
I think the Broncos will pass this character test, I’m even willing to bet on it with the four points of insurance on the spread.
The public has checked in with their three favorite plays of the week. The Oakland Raiders (-3) at the New York Jets is their favorite play, the next two most heavily wagered games are the Seattle Seahawks (+1) over the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots (-6) over the Dallas Cowboys.
The Qoxhi Week 12 selections are now posted on this site, and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour before kickoff, that game will be added to the list of recommendations at 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
